FIELD COMPLETE NOCTURNES

De Ierse componist John Field was als tijdgenoot van Beethoven de eerste die een reeks Nocturnes voor piano componeerde. Hij is daarmee de grondlegger van het genre en van grote invloed geweest op onder meer Frédéric Chopin. De romantische, op de sfeer van de nacht gebaseerde werken van Field worden op dit album gespeeld door pianiste Alice Sarah Ott: “By recording this album, I hope to share the story of this historically important composer and to encourage listeners to discover the origins of the Nocturne.”
