BASTARD TRACKS

The Bastard Tracks van Death Angel is een live album, dat zonder de coronapandemie nooit gemaakt zou zijn. Door een geforceerd vacuüm in het tourschema heeft de van oorsprong Filipijns Amerikaanse thrash metal band de ruimte genomen om een verzameling oude en nooit uitgebrachte songs eens flink op te poetsen en middels een livestream als definitieve versies ten gehore te brengen aan iedereen die dat leuk vond. En het was leuk, want Death Angel is een uitermate fijn orkest. Die livestream is nu uitgebracht als The Bastard Tracks en de opgepoetste versies van de (stok)oude nummers klinken energiek en kunnen zich goed meten met de rest van het oeuvre. Gitarist Rob Cavestany en zanger Mark Osegueda drukken al meer dan 35 jaar hun stempel op de sound van Death Angel die mede daardoor zeer herkenbaar en professioneel is. Het meest recente album Humanicide stamt uit 2019. Zouden de heren ook al met nieuw materiaal bezig zijn?
