ONE HAND CLAPPING

Alles rondom The Beatles krijgt al snel een mythische status, maar de release van ‘One Hand Clapping’, een zelden gehoord, -en daardoor mythisch-, live-in-de-studio-optreden van Paul McCartney & Wings, is wel heel bijzonder. ‘One Hand Clapping’ is één van de meest gebootlegde albums van Macca en nu, bijna vijftig jaar na de opname, komt het eindelijk officieel uit. Nadat hij zeven weken lang met Band On The Run op nummer 1 had gestaan werd de documentaire ‘One Hand Clapping’ opgenomen in Abbey Road. Het is McCartney in topvorm, met een fantastische band met blazerssectie en orkest en met hits ‘Live And Let Die’, ‘Maybe I’m Amazed’ en ‘Lady Madonna’. Ook minder vaak gehoorde songs als ‘Soily’ en ‘Sally G’ en de Moody Blues-klassieker ‘Go Now’, gezongen door Danny Laine, komen voorbij. De kenner weet hoe fantastisch deze opnames zijn, nu voor de rest van de wereld eindelijk beschikbaar.
