Regisseur Jonathan Kents sensationele enscenering van Mozarts Don Giovanni verdeelde publiek en critici tijdens het Glyndebourne Festival vorig jaar. Kent verplaatste de handeling naar de jaren vijftig van de vorige eeuw hetgeen in sommige scènes resulteert in Fellini-achtig drama. In de hoofdrollen schitteren Gerald Finley, Anna Samuil en Kate Royal, maar het is bovenal het Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment dat onder leiding van Vladimir Jurowski tot grote hoogten stijgt.
