Over dit album

SHINE A LIGHT

De dubbel cd is al enige tijd uit en de fans hebben dit concert vast al in de filmhuizen bekeken. Nu is hij er eindelijk op dvd. Wie dacht dat Shine A Light een soort documentaire is, komt bedrogen uit. Scorsese heeft er voor gekozen om wel wat zaken uit de geschiedenis terug te halen maar verder is het gewoon een degelijke concertregistratie. Overigens een hele goede waarbij vooral het ontbreken van de setlist Scorsese tot wanhoop drijft. Als gasten Jack White, die met het beeld erbij beter tot zijn recht komt dan op de plaat, Buddy Guy die goed als altijd is en Christina Aguilera die bewijst een degelijke strot te hebben. The Stones zelf spelen echter ook bijzonder gedreven alhoewel het wel jammer is dat er geen recent materiaal gespeeld wordt. Shine A Light is wat dat betreft een journey to the past maar wel een heel erg goede!
